Social Media Survival Skills with Jan Enns

The dynamic face of Facebook and other social media is such a pressing platform for our local governments, and especially for our elected officials who can often be the ‘face’ of the message. The purpose of this facilitated session is to provide elected officials with information on best practices for social media for their local government sites, as well as their own personal sites, with discussion on how best to incorporate relevant practices, especially when it comes to dealing with the more challenging, and often negative posts

Using best practices, real life examples, and plenary discussion, this online workshop will cover how to use social media both proactively and reactively to improve communications, correct misinformation, and reduce the need for ‘do overs’ and damage control.

Course is eligible for 1.5 credit hours towards LGLA Leadership Certification
